Stomach Bug Keeps More Than 100 Kids Out of Wayne School

Teachers in the small school were impacted, too.

 

More than 100 students from St. Katharine of Siena School in Wayne were home sick on Thursday with a stomach bug that tore through the school.

According to CBS 3, three teachers were also out sick. The news station reports:

Principal Bud Tosti said he called in the Pennsylvania Department of Health to help the school figure out what is causing students and teachers to come down with symptoms, which include stomach aches, vomiting and diarrhea.

“It seems we’ve been hit with a pretty good stomach bug, that’s what we’re led to believe,” said Principal Tosti. “We went from 12 kids out on a Tuesday, to 120 out or we sent home yesterday.”
