The Main Intersection

A look at the corner of North Wayne and Lancaster avenues in the 1950s.

This photo is of East Lancaster Avenue at the intersection of North Wayne Avenue in downtown Wayne. The well-recognized intersection is seen here in the 1950s, shortly after the building on the corner was replaced. The Cobb and Lawless store (today Wayne Jewelers), took the place of a three story building that burned in 1951. Also visible in this photo is J.M. Fronefield Realtors (now the Gryphon Cafe) and Orange Cleaners (now Farnan Jewelers/Toby's Shoe Repair).
