Walnut Avenue in the 19th Century

The houses still stand and have not changed much in more than a century.

This photograph was taken in the early days of North Wayne, sometime in the 1880s or 1890s. This group is gathered on the lawn of a house on Walnut Avenue. Although there are larger trees on that road today, the houses in the background still stand and appear much as they do in this picture.
