Warner Road Bridge Reopening Soon

The bridge closing has impacted many Radnor residents.

Construction of a pedestrian culvert under Warner Road in Upper Merion was scheduled to be finished in June.

Well, it's June, so a Radnor Patch reader wrote in to ask when the road would finally reopen. Many people from Radnor use Warner Road to get to Wegman's, the King of Prussia Mall and points beyond.

According to Dave Stauffer of the Chester County Department of Facilities and Parks, the end of the detour is nigh. Wednesday, June 12 is the date the road is scheduled to reopen, he said.

The reason for the closure is for part of the development of the second phase of the Chester Valley Trail, which connects with the already constructed Chester Valley Trail at Route 29 in East Whiteland Township and stop east of Warner Road.

During construction traffic was detoured to Old Eagle School Road via Devon Park Drive, Croton Road, and Upper Gulph Road, according to Upper Merion Township.
