Where to Find Free Downloadable Magazines

A new library service provides free downloads of major magazines.

The Delaware County Library System, an agency of county government, now offers current, downloadable magazines through a service called Zinio.  Use of Zinio is available for free with a DCLS library card.

To use the service, visit the Radnor Memorial Library’s web page --www.radnorlibrary.org -- and click the Zinio icon on the bottom left.  You will then see instructions for creating an account and accessing content. To get a library card, stop by the Radnor library at 114 West Wayne Avenue in Wayne Monday – Friday 9 am – 9 pm, Saturday 9 am – 5 pm or Sunday 1 – 5 p.m.

“ To be able to view the full issue of a magazine on a mobile device or at home on a computer is exciting and convenient” said Radnor library Board President Leslie Kramer. “We are so happy that the county library system has made this available.”

The Delaware County Library System has subscribed to 197 publications, everything from arts & crafts to yoga.  Popular titles include: Consumer Reports, Newsweek, O, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, the Economist and National Geographic.  There are many specialty magazines covering topics such as sports, technology, business, cars and motorcycles and knitting as well as several titles in Spanish, including Gente y la Actualidad, Proceso and Latino Sports. Once you have set up an account, you can download a free app for a PCMaciPhoneiPadAndroidKindle Fire or Blackberry Playbook.  Unfortunately, there is no app for Nooks at this time.
