Why You Should Leave Some Food by Your Mailbox Saturday

The National Association of Letter Carriers is having its annual food drive.

 

National Association of Letter Carriers (AFL-CIO) is holding its Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive on Saturday.

The drive has resulted in delivery of more than one billion pounds of donations to community food banks and pantries over the past 20 years, according to the United States Postal Service (USPS).

Carriers collect non-perishable food donations left by mailboxes and in post offices and deliver them to local community food banks, pantries and shelters.

You can place a box or can of non-perishable food next to your mailbox before your letter carrier delivers mail on Saturday, May 11.
