Classical Music on the Main Line: Kids Perform for Kids

The Nelly Berman School of Music invites families with
children in the community to come and observe our weekly music performance
class series on Saturday afternoons. These interactive classes lead by Nelly Berman
School faculty will
present our hard-working beginners as well as our award-winning students, ages
5-17, practicing performing in front of an audience. A member of the faculty
will lead the class, providing feedback and moderating the students' comments,
suggestions and reactions.

The class on September 28th will be our string performance class, where
students will perform on violin, viola, and cello as well as a violin and piano
duet. These performance classes are a unique opportunity for the children in
the audience to learn about different instruments and get inspired by listening
to their peers perform a whole new world of music.

This week, some of the pieces you will hear for strings and piano:

  • a Vivaldi Violin Concerto,
    played by a 9-year-old violinist
  • a Mozart violin and piano
sonata, played by 8 and 9-year-old siblings
  • a Scriabin piano prelude,
    played by a 9-year-old pianist
  • Russian pieces played by a
    5-year-old beginning piano student
  • ...and many more!

Please RSVP to the Nelly Berman
School at
nbsmusic@comcast.net or at 610-896-5105 as seating is very limited.
