Art Show: Upcycling Trash to Treasure

Dumpster Divers of Philadelphia

Upcycling Trash to Treasure

Public Reception
Saturday, January 5, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Fireside Room of Main Line Unitarian Church

January's art show at MLUC features a group exhibition. The Dumpster Divers of Philadelphia present Upcycling Trash to Treasure, which runs from January 5 through February 10. More than 20 members of this imaginative group of found object artists are participating in this delightful and inspiring exhibit. The Dumpster Divers show their upcycling art as a group and individually, each with unique visions for their work. They meet monthly to share trash-picked finds, art-making stories, flea market news, and socialize with their fellow art eccentrics.

The environmental impact of reused materials is "Ecologically Correct," but it is through their diverse visions that the Dumpster Divers make a large impact. Transformation of society's trash to create meaning and beauty is achieved through the eyes of these artists. Their artwork is as diverse as the group and materials used, all of it engaging, often playful, sometimes political, ironic, and definitely captivating! Please join us for a public reception on January 5, featuring talks from the artists.
