Main Line Talent Show

THE SATURDAY CLUB TO PRESENT THE MAIN LINE TALENT SHOW™

Children from Throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region will Compete for Fame and Prizes

WAYNE, PA – September 30, 2013 –The Saturday Club is pleased to announce the Main Line Talent Show™, an exciting new talent competition for children aged 8 to 18 in the Greater Philadelphia region.

A family-oriented contest aimed at individuals and families with an interest in entering the entertainment industry as well as those with a special interest in showcasing their talents, the Main Line Talent Show™will be held on April 4 and 5, 2013 at The McShain Performing Arts Center at Rosemont College in Rosemont, PA. The event is presented by MetroKids magazine and produced by The Saturday Club.  Proceeds will benefit The Saturday Club and its Children’s Charity Fund.

Boys and girls from across the Greater Philadelphia region will compete in a variety of talent categories including dance, vocals, instrumental music and select others in two age groups (8 to 12 and 13 to 18).  Interested contestants should complete an application (available on the event website at www.mainlinetalentshow.org) and submit a DVD showcasing their talent by November 30, 2013.  

Following a review of all applications, selected contestants will be invited to audition in person before a panel of independent judges from the music and dance fields.The audition judges will select up to 40 finalists from each age group based on talent and ability, creativity and originality, enthusiasm, stage presence and charisma, and appearance and costumes, to compete in the event finals on April 4 (8-12 year olds) and April 5 (13-18 year olds).
Finals judges include East- and West Coast casting directors and Bill Henley of NBC10.

One Grand Prize, one Second Prize and one Third Prize winner in each age group will be chosen to participate in a photo session with MetroKids magazine and be featured on the magazine’s cover in late 2014. In addition, Grand Prize winners will receive $500, Second Prize winners will receive $300, and Third Prize winners will receive$200.

The Saturday Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit women’s volunteer and philanthropic organization. From 2003 through 2011, The Saturday Club presented The American Girl Fashion Show®, raising over$800,000 for The Saturday Club Children’s Charity Fund and its beneficiaries. The organization will draw on that expertise for the Main Line Talent Show™, which is poised to become an annual tradition for The Saturday Club and the Greater Philadelphia region.

Presenting sponsor MetroKids is a multimedia resource for parents living in the greater Delaware Valley.  MetroKids magazine has served the community since 1990 with the region’s leading calendar of family friendly events, parenting articles and information. MetroKids.com features additional content including child-focused camp, day care, party and special needs directories. Other MetroKids publications include the Family Find-It Book, a guide to area attractions, service providers and community resources;SpecialKids®, a resource guide for families of children with special needs; and Educator’s Edition, a directory of field trips, assemblies and school enrichment programs.
