WAYNE, PA (March 31, 2014) The Wayne Art Center String

Orchestra will present “An Evening of English Music for Strings” on

Monday,  April 7,  7:30 p.m. at the Wayne Art Center.  The performance is free and open to the

public.

The new performing ensemble is an advanced group comprised

of talented young adult string players who auditioned in January for selection

into the group.  Musicians from six area

schools were selected for the premier string orchestra.

Under the direction of esteemed music educator, conductor

and Wayne resident Joyce S. Prichard, the program will include music by English

composers William Boyce, Benjamin Britten, Peter Warlock, Gustav Holst, John

Lennon/Paul McCartney, Percy Fletcher, William Walton, and Welsh composer Karl
Jenkins.Through the vision of Executive Director, Nancy Campbell,

and Director of Special Projects, Karen Louise Fay, the incorporation of this

performing ensemble in the Wayne Art Center’s class offerings has added an important
new dimension to the Art Center’s wide range of opportunities.
