Freonie Skin Savvy Tips: Cleansers

Cleansers are really important because they are the starting point of a good skin care regimen.

Hi! Today's blog teaches you what cleansers do, and how to choose the right cleanser for your skin.

The skin is the largest organ of the human body.  Oil glands, a derivative of the skin, are found all over the body. They are largest on the face, neck and chest. The puberty hormone testosterone, in both males and females, results in  increased oil gland activity. More oil leads to accumulated oil in the duct, which may finally result in one or all of the following: whiteheads, blackheads and infected pimples. The latter is caused by bacteria.

The first step in a skin care regimen is cleansing.
The type of cleanser you should be using depends on your skin type and existing medical conditions. Your choice should also be influenced by the season of the year. As a broad guideline, I have found the following "rule of thumb" to be successful:

For A Summer Regimen.
Oily skin type: gel cleanser.
Normal to slightly oily skin type: interchange a  gel and creamy cleanser.
Dry skin type: mainly a  creamy cleanser and switch out to a gel cleanser 2 to 3 times a week.

For A Winter Regimen.
Oily skin type: gel cleanser.
Normal to slightly oily skin type: creamy cleanser interchange witha gel cleanser 2/3 times a week.
Dry skin type: creamy cleanser.

Cleansers are really important because they are the starting point of a good skin care regimen. They help to clean the skin surface, maintain skin ph, remove dead skin cell build up and prepare the skin to absorb products.
