Community Corner

The Saturday Club Membership Meeting

Who We Are

Women with a purpose. With the exception of our office manager and custodian, 100% of the women of The Saturday Club are volunteers. We work together to help our community by providing direct service and philanthropic support to those in need in the greater Philadelphia area.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit women's volunteer and philanthropic organization. The club has been in continuous existence since 1886 and has been a leader in community outreach and civic issues since its inception.

Prospective Members

Prospective Members must attend two club membership meetings. By attending our meetings, you will have the opportunity to meet a number of women in the club, have your questions answered, and learn more about our organization to help you decide if The Saturday Club is right for you.

The membership meetings are held each month from September through May, typically on the second Tuesday of each month. Please make sure to check the Club Calendar for confirmation of meeting dates as occasionally we meet on the third Tuesday of a month. Meetings are held at our historic clubhouse located at 117 West Wayne Avenue in downtown Wayne, Pennsylvania.

You may attend any meeting without advance reservation (with the exception of the Spring Luncheon in May), but we encourage you to contact our Vice President for Membership to let us know you will be in attendance so we may greet you properly. Contact us at 610.688.9746, x4 or by email: membership@saturdayclub.org.

After you have attended two club membership meetings and have decided the club is right for you, you may request an Application for Membership from the Vice President for Membership. The application must be completed and submitted, with the appropriate initiation fee and dues by the deadline. All prospective members must be approved by the Board of Directors.

Prospective Members must also attend an orientation session prior to the proposed induction ceremony to learn more about the club and member requirements. New Members are inducted twice yearly, in January and May.

Membership Eligibility

In order to be eligible for membership in The Saturday Club, you must be at least 21 years of age. There are no restrictions on geographic location of residence. Please note, however, that our projects, activities, and meetings are located in the central Main Line area. Most of our members live on the Main Line, but there are many who live in outer areas including Plymouth Meeting, Bucks County, Phoenixville, and others.
