A "Lovely Christmas Lights" Show

Mary Jo and Ken Lovely of Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania have selected HelpHOPELive as the beneficiary of their annual 'Lovely Christmas Lights' Show.  Every night from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. from Thanksgiving to New Years Eve, more than 40,000 lights - all synced to holiday music - illuminate the Lovely home.
People driving by can tune their radios to FM 92.1 to hear a loop of the holiday songs, which runs in 15-minute intervals. The annual event not only ignites excitement from neighboring children and families, it sheds light on a cause that is near to the Lovelys' hearts: organ donation. Mary Jo is a lung transplant recipient.  Since being granted a second chance at life in 2007, she and her husband, Ken, have dedicated their lives to spreading the word about the critical shortage of organ donors. The 'Lovely Christmas Lights' Show was inspired by a holiday trip to Disney World in 2006, a trip the Lovelys feared may be Mary Jo's last. Read full story It takes all year to prepare the elaborate lights and music show. Ken selects the songs, and Mary Jo picks the themes. This year's display theme is "Kids Christmas Party" and the Lovelys are collecting donations to help transplant patients through HelpHOPELive's Emergency Grant Fund.  They chose HelpHOPELive this year because they wanted to help the people who need it more directly:  "That's where my heart is," said Mary Jo. "I would like to help the individual (transplant patient), because there are a lot of people who can't afford it."
