Stillness and beauty on a Sunday morning

Sometimes the elements of natural beauty here in Radnor align in such a way that capturing those moments for posterity seems like the only responsible option.

Radnor is a beautiful place to live, with enough trees and space remaining to soften the impact of our increasingly dense development. If you narrow your sightline sufficiently, you can still get a glimpse of what it was like to live here 50 or 100 years ago.

I was reminded of that this morning when I went out to the patio to refill the bird feeder. A soft dusting of snow had coated the grass and shrubbery, and there was a stillness to the chilly, humid air. At eight o'clock, the sun was up just enough to backlight the mist in a breathtaking way. It was utterly picturesque, which led me to capture it for a lasting memory.

The photograph is unretouched, and simply reflects what I saw on this tranquil Sunday morning.

I'm guessing others had their own moment of awe. This was mine.
