Five on the Line - Farm Fresh on the Main Line

Nothing beats farm fresh produce, and we're lucky to have a number of Farmers Markets in the area to help us eat healthier this summer.

Welcome to Week 2 of Five on the Line

Summertime, and the living is easy. There’s nothing like waking up in the morning, wandering out to your garden, and picking fresh fruit and vegetables that you can serve to your family and friends for lunch or dinner the same day.

If you don’t have your own garden, your local Farmers Market is the next best thing.

We are lucky on the Main Line to have a number of Farmers Markets in the area. Some are open once a week, others multiple days a week. Each has a variety of local vendors selling everything from cheeses to fruit to fish to baked goods - everything you need for a delicious meal.

There’s nothing like fresh produce all year long, but in the summer, it seems to taste even better.

*While researching the various Farmers Markets in the area, I came across two helpful websites:  http://growingrootspartners.com is dedicated to educating the public on the importance of sustainable agriculture, and  http://www.buylocalpa.org  will help you locate farms, farmer’s markets and tasting events near you. Each market also has its own Facebook page with more information on events, dates and producers that will be at the market.
