Nominate a Community Volunteer for WBA Award

The Wayne Business Association is accepting nominations for the 2012 Benjamin V.M. Wilson Community Service Award.

 

The Wayne Business Association is accepting nominations for the 2012 Benjamin V.M. Wilson Community Service Award. 

WBA and Bryn Mawr Trust Company, Corporate Sponsor, honor the memory of Ben Wilson by awarding an annual community service tribute to an individual who emulates Ben’s spirit and volunteerism.

Nominations may be made by an individual, or through an organization in the Wayne or Radnor community, or through a member of the Wayne Business Association. The deadline is March 26, 2012.

Wilson was a dedicated community volunteer in the Wayne and Radnor Township area and devoted many hours of his personal time to various community organizations.

He was involved with Wayne Rotary, Radnor ABC, Wayne Senior Center, Wayne Public Safety Association, Memorial Day Parade Committee, Radnor Fall Festival Committee, Family Forum, Main Line Chamber of Commerce, Mount Pleasant Carr School House, Surrey Services for Seniors, PLAN of PA., and the Wayne Business Association.

Nominees should be actively involved in community and volunteer efforts in Wayne or the Radnor community. They should evidence community spirit; willingness to volunteer time and effort on behalf of the community; community involvement in organizations; kindness, cheerfulness and courage.

The award's past recipients are Bernadette Bundy, Justin McCarthy, Art Lewis, Bill Braxton, Ernest Eadeh, John W. Fischer, Herb Armstrong, Florence Hubert, Carol Tatta, and Cheryl Tumola. 

The Award will be presented at the WBA annual dinner meeting in April. A $500.00 award will be donated to a local charitable organization of the award recipient’s choice.
