Community Garden Meeting Saturday

A meeting will be held Saturday, February 18.

The Board of Commissioners of Radnor Township have voted to allow for a new project of developing the garden site within the Willows, to be known as the Skunk Hollow Community Garden.

The goal is for citizens interested in growing organic fruits and vegetables to learn and work together to cultivate their own local produce.

Here’s the vision:

  • The site will be divided into 32 plots, each measuring 19x19-feet, with walkways between. A water source and connection for electricity are already on-site.
  • Within the "common areas" there will be room for gathering, storage of tools and herb and flower beds.

The annual participation fee is $50. Additional funds will be needed to build raised beds, to purchase additional soil and some essential equipment. This first year will be intense and hard work. A commitment of 4 to 5 work days for building, as well as three additional half-days for maintenance of common areas is essential, according to the organizers.
