Agnes Irwin Lacrosse Co-Captain to Play Division I
Morgan Pergolini ’14 signs with Virginia Commonwealth University
Rosemont, PA—Senior Morgan Pergolini signed a commitment letter Friday, November 15 with Virginia Commonwealth University to continue her lacrosse career at the Division I level. Peroglini, a Havertown resident, will graduate from The Agnes Irwin School in June 2014.
Pergolini has been a tri-athlete since her freshman year at Agnes Irwin and has been a Varsity member of the field hockey, swim and lacrosse teams for the past four years. Pergolini plays midfield and defense for Agnes Irwin as well as her club team, Phantastix.

“Morgan was a huge part of the team’s turnaround season, humble in nature but with a physically strong presence in the defensive end that helped the Owls to go on a nine-game winning streak,” said Agnes Irwin Varsity lacrosse coach, Jenny Duckenfield. “Morgan's leadership made a big impact on the defense and her teammates as she was voted captain for her senior season. She will be an impact player for VCU.”
“I am so excited to join the VCU community and become part of their new lacrosse program,” said Pergolini.

Pergolini was the recipient of the 2013 Carter Mannion Award, given to an Agnes Irwin athlete for her athletic ability, leadership and enthusiasm. Pergolini is a member of multiple clubs at Agnes Irwin, including the Athletic Association, SEGA, which supports girls’ education in Tanzania, and Hives for Lives, a non-profit promoting cancer awareness.
