Harcum's Basketball Team in Final Four!

Harcum College Bears Advance to Final Four in NJCAA Tourney

Bryn Mawr, PA – March 20, 2014  The Harcum College Bears defeated Trinity Valley Community College of Texas 69-56 in the Division 1 NJCAA quarterfinals, advancing to the Final Four, notching another milestone. Trinity Valley was seeded twelfth going into the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas. 

The Harcum Bears next play Indian Hills Community College of Iowa, the number one tournament seed, at 7 pm EST tonight, Friday, March 21.

The tournament wraps up Saturday with the title game. 

This is Harcum's first trip to Hutchinson since upgrading their program to Division I six years ago. They are coached by Drew Kelly who is in his ninth season. Earlier this week, the Bears beat Walters State out of Tennessee to make the Sweet Sixteen and South Georgia Tech to make the Elite Eight of the NJCAA. The Bears came into this tournament as the 13th seed but had been ranked fourth in final NJCAA poll of regular season.

The game will stream live from the NJCAA TV website and can also be accessed from the home page of the Harcum College website at www.harcum.edu. The tournament concludes March 22.

All this week the College hosted "watch parties" in the Marlo Little Theatre for faculty and staff to cheer on the athletes playing in Kansas. More information about the the NJCAA National Tournament is available at njcaa.org.
