UPDATE: 1 Killed, 2 Others Shot at Delco Hospital

At least one suspect is in custody. There were unconfirmed reports of a second shooter.

One person has been killed and two others wounded in a shooting Thursday afternoon at Mercy-Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, Delaware County, officials say.

A female hospital employee was killed, NBC10 reported. Her name has not been released pending the notification of her family.

A doctor was also shot, philly.com reported.

The other person wounded has been identified to NBC as a suspect in the shooting. Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan told NBC that the suspect has psychiatric issues. His identity had not been released Thursday afternoon.

It was unclear who shot the suspect. The suspect was taken to the trauma center at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where NBC said he was listed in critical condition.

Whelan said the shooting took place in a psychiatric unit at the hospital, philly.com reported. The initial call came in just after 2 p.m. Thursday.

The building was still on lockdown at 4 p.m. Thursday following unconfirmed reports of a second shooter, philly.com said.
