Boy Hits Mother With Car, and More Police Blotter

Radnor police provided Patch the following incident reports on July 6.

On June 30 at 3:43 p.m., police received report that a 14-year-old hit his mother with a car.

Upon arriving at the Bloomingdale Avenue scene, police said they learned that the boy was washing the car, a white Jaguar, in the driveway and was attempting to pull it back into the garage when, rather than apply the break, he hit the gas and drive into his mother, who was standing in front of the vehicle. The woman, 54, was transported to Paoli Hospital with a lower leg injury.

Theft/Harassment

On June 29 at 5:19 p.m., police charged Asad Ahmed, 18, of Wayne, with robbery, theft, and harassment after an incident between he and his former girlfriend.

Police said that despite being told to leave her alone by a Radnor police officer on June 25, Ahmed followed the complainant, on the afternoon of June 29, took her cellphone from her hand in front of Johnny's Dog House. Ahmed then got in his car and drove away with it before, ten minutes later, he drove by her and dropped it at her feet as she walked to Starbucks Coffee.

The complainant then filled out an incident report and Ahmed was contacted by the police, at which time he turned himself in and was charged.

On July 1, the complainant obtained a temporary Protection from Abuse order from Delaware County and Ahmed was served with it.

Car Crash

On June 30 at 9:48 p.m., police responded to report of a three-vehicle crash at 500 Sproul Road in Villanova.

Officers determined a 2004 Honda Civic and a 1999 Toyota Camry crashed head on into one another, at which point a 1997 Audi also became involved in the crash. The driver of the Civic was disoriented on the scene and took an inconclusive field sobriety test before being transferred by ambulance to Paoli Hospital to have blood drawn for chemical testing.

The results of the test were entered into temporary evidence and the investigation is ongoing.

Driving Under the Influence

On July 1 at 11:04 p.m. on Lantonga Road in Wayne, a Haverford teen was charged with driving under the influence.

The arresting officer reported pulling over Austin List, 19, for speeding and smelling an odor of burnt marijuana emanating from List's car when he spoke with him. List and his passenger admitted to smoking marijuana 40 minutes prior to the stop.

List struggled during his field sobriety test, and was transported to Bryn Mawr Hospital for a drug scan before being released to a friend. He was charged driving under the influence of a controlled substance and speeding.

Underage Drinking

On June 28 at 10:09 p.m. at 120 Garrett Avenue in Rosemont, police broke up an underage drinking party and issued four citations for underage consumption.

According to police, officers arrived on the scene in response to an anonymous complaint and found a party with 40-50 attendees in progress in the back yard. Multiple juveniles fled the scene (successfully) and police found cups of alcohol on a table. Contact was made with six underage attendees, but each declined to admit who had provided the alcohol for the party.

Police cited four people with underage drinking.
