Burning Down The House

The Radnor Fire Company set this specially built house on fire Saturday to show how quickly a house can go up in flames.

The message: get out of a burning house an have a plan and don't try to fight a fire yourself before calling 9-1-1.

This firefighting demonstration in the post office parking lot across from the Radnor Fire Company showed how a fire progress quickly from the time it ignites to the time it can engulf a building or a room.

Volunteers from Radnor and East Whiteland Fire Companies raced to the scene from several blocks away and used water from the East Whiteland engone's to demonstrate what happens in a fire that happens in a building located far from a fire hydrant, such as the four car garage fire on Darby Paoli Road last month.
