Dog Chases Neighbor and More Radnor Police Blotter

Police reported the following incidents from the week of March 25 to April 1.

On Thursday afternoon, the Radnor Police Department provided the following incident report to Patch.

Police said that on March 25 at 4:30 p.m., Kimyetta Felder, 35, of Philadelphia, was arrested for stealing two pairs of shoes with a total retail value of $300 from the TJ Maxx at 550 E. Lancaster Avenue in St. Davids.

According to police, a loss prevention specialist witnessed Felder place two pairs of shoes in her purse and leave the store. The employee then followed Mitchell into the parking lot and, along with the store manager, escorted her back into the store and dialed 911. Felder was arrested and charged with retail theft.

Underage Drinking

According to police, after receiving a tip from an anonymous caller, seven individuals ranging in age from 15 to 17 were charged with underage purchase, possession, and consumption of alcohol at Saw Mill Park in Newtown Square on March 25 shortly after 9 p.m.

According to police, after being apprehended, the individuals reported a party of 25 to 30 additional juveniles was taking place inside Skunk Hollow. Officers entered through the gate and witnessed the juveniles run off. Though officers found beer cans and trash in the area, they were unable to locate any of the juveniles.

According to police, on March 29 at 10:45 p.m., Christopher Gonzales, 18, of Rosemont and Martin Howard, 19, also of Rosemont, were cited with underage purchase, consumption, and possession of alcohol on Bailey Road in Rosemont.

Police said an officer stopped Gonzales and Martin as they were walking along Bailey Road and noticed a strong odor of alcohol on their breath. Police said they were uncooperative with the officer, and Gonzales began an argument with the officer. Both were cited and released.

Criminal Mischief

Police said Diego Mejia, 19, of Woodbridge, VA, Muhammade Usmani, 18, of Islip, NY, and Preston Hocutt, 18, of Concord, NC, were cited with criminal mischief March 26 at 10:05 p.m. on the corner of Radnor Street Road and Beechtree Road in Wayne.

According to police, an officer witnessed the three placing signs inside a blue Dodge Caravan and after approaching the individuals, discovered they were street number signs from around the neighborhood. According to police, the teens admitted to removing the signs, which they were able to take without entering onto any private property.

The officer took pictures of the signs, then transported Mejia, Usmani, and Hocutt to return each of the signs.

Public Drunkenness

According to police, on March 27 at 3:30 a.m., Alexander Cronstein, 24, of New York, NY, was charged with public drunkenness at Villanova University.

Police said Villanova University Public Safety alerted them that Cronstein, who is not a student of the university, wandered into Maguire Hall visibly intoxicated, and then began running the halls when he was approached by public safety.

After he was apprehended, Cronstein said he had been drinking with friends and was unsure how he ended up at the university, according to police.

Theft From Automobile

According to police, overnight between March 24 and March 25, a North Face backpack containing a pair of eyeglasses, text books, an iPad, a laptop charger, a calculator, and a notepad was reported stolen from a car parked on 200 David Drive in Bryn Mawr.

Police said there were no sings of forced entry, and the victim reported the vehicle was unlocked at the time of the theft.

According to police, overnight between March 25 and 26, a Dell laptop, a set of golf clubs, a set of law books, and a GPS were reported stolen from the trunk of a vehicle parked at Radnor House Condos at 1030 E. Lancaster Avenue in Rosemont.

Police said the victim reported the car was locked and there was no sign of damage to the trunk.

Theft

According to police, on March 26, Villanova University Public Safety reported that between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. a Dell laptop, an iTouch phone, and a camera were taken from an unlocked dorm room in Stanford Hall.

Police said the student who had the laptop stolen will have it replaced by the university, while the student who owned the phone and camera will file an insurance report.

Fraud

According to police, on March 25 at 7:48 p.m., a Bryn Mawr resident reported that his or her VISA card was used to make an unauthorized purchase in December 2010.

Police said an officer was able to contact the vendor, and because the purchase was made on the Internet, will be requesting information on where the item or items were sent.

Dog Complaint

According to police, on March 29 at 9:42 p.m., a resident of Milmar Road in Newtown Square reported that his neighbor's dog had chased him up his driveway and into his home. According to police, the canine, which is owned by Hal Doig, 83, of Loudan Lane in Newtown Square, has been reported for three similar violations in the past four years. The victim told officers that he wishes to pursue the matter in court.

Disorderly Conduct

*According to police, on March 29 at 2:40 p.m., Daniel Savini, 54, of Wayne, was charged with disorderly conduct after a woman reported he pulled down his pants on Pembroke Avenue in St. Davids.

Police said that after receiving the call of complaint, Savini was located walking down the street and explained to officers that he was just taking a walk. According to police, when asked why he was tucking in his shirt, he told the officers it was because he doesn't wear a belt.

The individual who made the complaint was brought to the scene and positively identified Savini as the subject she saw remove his pants.

* Savini was later found not guilty of disorderly conduct in district court.
