Fire Companies Receive State Grants

Radnor Patch's local fire companies recently received funding from the state.

Radnor Patch's area fire companies each received grant money in the Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner's Volunteer Fire Company, Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program (VFCVAS).

Radnor Fire Company, which services most of Radnor Township, requested $15,000 and was awarded $13,116.29. Its EMS division requested $9,520.00 and received $6,332.21.

Bryn Mawr Fire Company, which services some of the eastern part of Radnor, requested $15,000 and received $12,954.87.

The State Fire Commissioner's Office reviewed the 2,713 applications and approved 2,665 applications for 2012-2013.

The final distribution to Fire Companies, statewide, totaled $26,400,000 and for Vounteer Ambulance Services totaled $3,600,000, according to Office of the State Fire Commissioner.
