Has 'Bobby Washington' Called You?

Radnor Police are alerting residents to a new trend in phone scams.

Radnor Police are warning residents of a new phone scam.

A victim reported that he received a phone call from a male who identified himself as "Bobby Washington." Washington stated he was from the Pennsylvania Lottery and told the victim that he had won $2.5 million dollars in a secondary drawing, police said.

The phone number Washington left as a contact number is XXX-457-2569. He told the victim he would have to go to Wal-Mart and buy a scratch off prize pack. The "prize pack" would have a code number on it. Washington then told the victim to call him at the following number, XXX-889-7071, and he would get further instructions on where to send the $350 release fee for the prize money.

Radnor Police have notified the Lottery Commission and they report numerous similar incidents with the same name. They continue to investigate with other authorities.
