OMG PD: Woman Scammed Out of $3,000

Check out these unusual police stories from the Philadelphia area.

Bad Call: According to a report from Marple-Newtown Patch, a woman was scammed out of more than $3,000 when she was tricked into thinking her grandson was in a Dominican prison. Get the full story here, and watch out for scams.

Party Hard: According to a report from West Chester Patch, police detained a number of people who were reportedly drinking and smoking marijuana in Shaw Bridge Park on July 5. I guess they wanted to get a little more out of their Fourth of July. See the full story here.

Talk About Bad Press: This story is still unfolding on Ardmore Patch, but here's the long and short of it: police cited a man and his wife, both realtors, and said they dumped dead animals in their neighbor's driveway. The media reported the story.

  • The woman was then fired from her job. The attorney for the realtors claim that her termination is due to "negative publicity" and "sensational reporting."
  • Police say they have video of the realtor and her husband throwing snakes and dead mice into their neighbor's driveway.
  • The realtor's attorney says the police won't leak the video, police say the attorney never asked for the video.

Yeah, I don't really know, either. Try to make sense of it here.
