Parking at Wawa Just Got Tighter

At one location, Radnor Police are giving the sidewalk back to pedestrians.

Parking at some Wawa locations can sometimes feel like an Olympic sport.

The challenge just got tougher at the Wawa at Morris and Sugartown roads in Wayne as Radnor Police are giving a segment of the sidewalk back to pedestrians.

It never was taken from pedestrians officially, but rather the sidewalk meant for pedestrians over the years has been used for parking.

Lt. Christopher Flanagan told Radnor Patch that the department recently started getting complaints about pedestrian safety about the stretch of sidewalk (painted yellow in the photo above).

He said police met with Wawa representatives and the property's owner to come up with a plan to better delineate and make safer the pedestrian sidewalk.

Police have been ticketing cars that parking on the sidewalk, which is a township offense. Flanagan also said that the orange cones placed along there has made a "marked improvement."
