Phoenixville Town Watch Bringing 'National Night Out' to the Borough

The event aims to bring community members and law enforcement closer together.

Editor’s note: the following release was submitted by Michael Hill of the Phoenixville Town Watch.

Phoenixville residents are invited to participate in a “National Night Out” event at Grace Crossing Community Church located at the corner of Church and Gay Streets on Tuesday, August 7 at 7 p.m. Phoenixville Town Watch is sponsoring this annual awareness event designed to strengthen our communities by encouraging neighborhoods to engage in stronger relationships with each other and with their local law enforcement partners.

This year’s event will bring together Phoenixville residents, the Phoenixville Police, the Chester County Sheriff, Phoenixville Fire Department, the Phoenixville Dive Team, and Jennifer Mayo, Phoenixville Borough Council person. This is an opportunity to foster relations in our community. The Town Watch hopes by meeting the police and other officials, residents will feel more comfortable calling the police in an emergency. We urge residents to call the police if there is a problem, because if not, nothing gets better. If we can all band together with the police, Town Watch, and other officials, we can do more. There are voices in numbers.

The Town Watch will provide snacks, face painting, live music by the Paul Wentworth band and other fun activities.

National Night Out, started by the National Association of Town Watch, is an event that brings communities together across the nation to raise awareness of crime and drug prevention. The goal is to heighten crime prevention awareness, build support and participation in local anti-crime programs, and most importantly, send a message that our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Neighbors who know and watch out for each other make everyone safer. For more information visit www.nationalnightout.org

Thank you for the good news about the community event. But someone should have proofread this article before posting for grammar and punctuation. Please don't turn our Patch into another Phoenix by running such pieces without basic editing.
