Police Blotter: Cabrini Assault, Local Thefts and Egging

Radnor Police arrest Glen Mills resident on assault charges at Cabrini.

Following a dorm room incident the week before, a Cabrini College student was arrested for allegedly assaulting another student, causing the latter to sustain numerous injuries.

Tyler Canada, 19, of Glen Mills turned himself in on an active warrant to Radnor Police March 24. He was wanted on simple assault and harassment charges filed by the Delaware County District Attorney's Office.

In an incident March 17, Canada allegedly punched another student at Cabrini, according to the statements of five students given to police and college public safety officials. The blow caused the student to strike his head against a piece of furniture.

Sustaining a concussion and injuries to his jaw and neck, the student was transported to Bryn Mawr Hospital.

Cabrini Public Safety contacted Radnor Police and aided in the investigation. Students involved were given a Domestic Rights form, alerting them of agencies available for assistance.

Wayne Home Egged

A Wayne woman told police her home was egged March 21. Overnight, the woman, who lives on Valley Forge Terrace, told police she heard noises and a car drive away. In the morning, she said her house was struck with several eggs. No other houses reported vandalism, police said.

Pinched From Work Sites

Police reported two incidents involving thefts from area construction sites.

On March 24, $1,674 in brass and copper valves and pipes were reportedly taken from a padlocked storage container at 350 Walnut Ave. Contacted by company Service Mark, police reported that building materials were taken from the metal shed and that both padlocks were missing.

Additionally, one ladder, two ladder jacks and a plank were reportedly taken from a construction site on Parkes Run Lane in Villanova March 17. A site supervisor told police the materials were missing after returning to work that morning. About $750 in equipment was gone, police said.
