Police Blotter: Students Behaving Badly and a Thirsty Thief

Patch highlights a few of the more interesting crimes taking place in Radnor recently.

A very popular beverage

A young man attempted to steal several cans of the high-energy drink Red Bull from the Wawa on Bryn Mawr Avenue on the evening of April 27.

According to police, a white man about 30 years old wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans put several cans in his dark-colored backpack and fled the store, with one employee chasing him.

He was last seen in the Radwyn apartment complex, which is where police found the backpack containing thirteen 12-ounce cans of the drink as well as five 4-packs, which are not sold in the Bryn Mawr Wawa.

According to one employee, the man may have attempted the same theft the week prior.

Costly construction materials pilfered

During the night of April 25 someone stole approximately $25,000 worth of construction items from the Goshen Road bridge project in Newtown Square.

According to PennDOT, the project owner and victim, 200 screw jacks and 100 top and bottom plates were taken from an open container sometime between 4 p.m. on April 25 and 5:30 a.m. the following morning.

Disorderly [college] conduct

Five Eastern University students were cited for disorderly conduct after throwing eggs at buildings and cars on the campus of neighboring Cabrini College.

According to police, Eastern students Glenn Westerlund, Tyler Stowers, Joseph Wilmont, James Hofmeister, and Mwangangi Muindi were chased back to their campus by Cabrini public safety officers after being seen throwing eggs on May 9 around 1:15 a.m.

It’s [a theft] about time

A resident of Montrose Avenue in Rosemont reported that three of his watches were missing from his home, he discovered May 3.

According to police, the values of the individual watches add up to about $670.
