Police Briefs: Thefts

Read about some of the thefts recently reported in Radnor.

The following information comes from police reports provided by Radnor Township Police Department.

  • A 74-year-old Rosemont man was cited for retail theft for trying to steal $54.32 worth of groceries from Giant in St. Davids on Jan. 21.
  • Two Dell projectors valued at $500 each were stolen from a classroom in Villanova University’s Mendel Hall sometime between Nov. 20 and 27, it was recently reported.
  • An employee of Sterling Optical on West Lancaster Avenue in Wayne reported an attempted theft took place in the store on Jan. 22. According to the police report, two men and a woman tried to steal a pair of Ralph Lauren sunglasses. Police describe the suspects as: a black man, 5’10”, 190 lbs., with a beard and wearing two dark-colored jackets; a black man, 5’9”, 190 lbs., wearing dark-colored clothing; and a black woman, shorter than the men, with a thin build and wearing a coat with a long shirt, dark dress shoes and a niqab, which covers her face.
  • A bag was stolen from a car while it was parked in the parking lot of Summit Training Center in the 700 block of East Lancaster Ave. in Villanova. A window of the car had been smashed. The incident took place sometime near 5:20 p.m.
  • An Eastern University employee reported that items were taken from her wallet in Walton Hall during a short time that she left her purse on a table on Jan. 25. The missing items included debit cards and a driver’s license.
  • An employee of the Antique Store in Wayne reported Jan. 26 that a woman and a man stole sales receipts, customer checks and $32 in cash. According to the police report, the suspects are described as: a black woman, 35 to 40 years old, about 5’6”, heavy-set with long hair pulled back in a red-colored hair clip, wearing blue jeans, a dark blue coat and sneakers; a black man, 40-45 years old, light-colored skin, short hair, baggy blue jeans, a beige button-up shirt and either had a chipped or gold tooth.
  • An employee of St. Edmund’s Home in Rosemont reported that her iPhone was stolen on Jan. 25 while it was left in the employee break room to charge.
  • A 46-year-old man from St. Davids was cited for retail theft after trying to steal $54 worth of groceries from Giant in St. Davids on Jan. 26.
  • A resident of Roberts Road in Rosemont reported Jan. 26 that a man was discovered in his car. At the time he called police, the man was stuck in his yard because of a deer fence, but he was gone when police arrived. About $10 in quarters was missing from the car.
