Police Briefs: Thefts from Cars

Read about some of the thefts reported in Radnor this month.

  • A laptop computer, LCD television, and X-Box gaming system were stolen out of a car that was parked in the parking lot of Micro Center in St. Davids on Nov. 25. According to a police report, the items were in a book bag. The driver’s side window of the car, parking behind the store, had been smashed.
  • An iPhone valued at $150 was left in a store at Villanova University on Nov. 26. It was tracked to a location in Philadelphia
  • A resident of Overhill Road in Wayne was cited with retail theft after allegedly stealing a bottle of vodka from the Wine and Spirits store in Wayne on Dec. 3. The vodka was valued at $7.79.
  • A resident of Woodcrest Road in Radnor reported that $80 went missing from her home on the morning of Dec. 2. According to the police report, the two homeowners were in the back yard that morning, and when they came into the house a purse was moved slightly from its place on a table and the owner’s wallet was sticking out.
  • An iPad valued at $700 was stolen out of a truck that was parked in the 500 block of West Wayne Avenue during the night of Nov. 30 into Dec. 1.
  • An employee of the Wawa on Bryn Mawr Avenue reported on Dec. 1 that a man paid for coffee and a sandwich and then left the store after grabbing a box of Entenmanns’s donuts, valued at $4.29.
  • A Devon resident reported that on Dec. 1 she purchased items at Bed, Bath and Beyond in St. Davids and placed them in her car. After coming back from another store there, she noticed that the bag was gone. A clock, puzzle, candle and wine sock were in the bag.
  • A black leather skirt valued at $62 was reported stolen from South Moon Under in Wayne on Nov. 29. According to an employee, the suspects got into a dark-colored SUV and a cream-colored Lincoln Town car.
  • A former employee of Bed, Bath and Beyond in St. Davids was charged with theft by unlawful taking after an investigation determined that the employee took a total of $188 from cash registers.
  • Loose change and other items were stolen out of cars in the West Wayne area over the night of Nov. 28. Cars on Eaton Drive, Kirsch Ave., South Devon Avenue, and Devonwood Road were targeted.
