Tredyffrin Township Police Officer Larry Meoli is home with his family after being hit by a car on Old Eagle School Road Friday night near the Starfford Train Station.
Officer Meoli was airlifted in serious condition to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where he was treated for head, chest and shoulder injuries after being lifted off the ground and hitting the winshield of the car.
Miraculously, he was released from the hospital overnight and is now home recovering.
Officer Meoli is a 26 year veteran of the force and a familiar face in the community. He is the department's public lianson officer and appears at many events on behalf of the department. Just last week he was a "face" of the Tredyffrin Department at a bike rodeo held at Wilson Farm Park.
Several friends and community members have already commented on the Tredyffrin Easttown Patch Facebook page. Others have called Patch to express their concerns.
With that in mind it seems like this would be a good place to offer well wishers a place to sign a community get well card. Please share the link to this story with your friends and family so that they too can cheer Officer Meoli and his family on as he recovers from his injuries.
You can send best wishes to officer Meoli by leaving a note in the comments section at the bottom of this article. We'll make sure he receives your notes of encouragement.
