Serious Two-Car Head-On Collision, Multiple Injuries on Super Bowl Sunday

A two-car collision on Darby Paoli Road in Radnor causes multiple injuries.

On Super Bowl Sunday just before 8:30 p.m., Radnor police responded to a serious two-car collision involving five and injuring four Feb. 6.

According to the authorities, the two cars were driving near the 700 block on Darby Paoli Road in Radnor when the vehicles had a partially head-on collision at a curve in the road.

Police believe the slippery roads from the recent rain and melted snow may have affected the driving conditions. Neither driver appeared to have had any alcohol, said police.

According to police, both the driver and passenger in the first car were seriously injured and were flown by PennStar helicopter to the Hospital of the University of Pennslvania. Both passengers in the second car also suffered severe injuries and were flown by PennStar helicopter to Paoli Hospital, said police, while the driver appeared to remain uninjured.

Both lanes of Darby Paoli Road were partially closed for about an hour. Radnor EMS also responded to the scene.

Radnor DPW also reported to the scene after the crash to salt the roadway, said police. Both cars were towed from the scene.
