TT Officer Struck By Car, Airlifted to E.R
The officer was airlifted to the E.R. in Philadelphia.
A Tredyffrin Township police officer was struck by a car on Old Eagle School Road around 8 p.m. Friday.
As of 10:30pm Tredyffrin Township Police Superintendent Anthony Giaimo did not immediately have specifics of the accident, or the release name of the injured officer but tells TE Patch more information will be coming from the department's Public Information Officer.
Township Manager Mimi Gleason confirms the unidentified officer was flown to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for treatment. The officer's condition is not yet known.

According to NBC 10, the officer was outside on the road when he was struck by a vehicle.
CBS Philly.com had a chopper shot of the scene and reports that the driver that struck the officer did not leave the accident scene, just south of Strafford Avenue.

6ABC.com posted a different chopper shot of the scene and reports that, according to unidentified officials, the officer was issuing a traffic ticket when the accident occured just after 8p.m.
As of 10:15 p.m. Friday the road was still closed off and yellow tape surrounded the area between Route 30 and the Strafford Train Station due to police investigation.
