Symantha Hicks, Former VFMAC Counselor Sentenced to Probation

Hicks received two-years of probation and a $1000 fine for the charges of corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to a minor.

A plea was reached in the case of Symantha Hicks, the former Valley Forge Military Academy and College guidance counselor who was accused of providing alcohol to underage cadets in December 2011.

"Judge Kevin Kelly sentenced Hicks to two years of county probation on the charge of corruption of minors," stated Delaware County Assistant District Attorney, Erica Parham, in an email to Radnor Patch. 

"The defendant shall have no unsupervised contact with minors under the age of 18 except her own children," read the statement. "Judge Kelly also sentenced her to a one year probation on the charge of selling / furnishing alcohol to a minor," to run consecutively as well as a $1000 fine.

Back in December, in response to a reported assault. When they arrived at the scene, the officers learned that two 17-year-old cadets were involved in what was described as an "underage alcohol consumption incident" and that a third cadet, aged 16, had received oral sex from Hicks at the school.

On January 4, 2012, with one count of Unlawful Contact with a Minor, eleven counts of Corruption of Minors, and ten counts of Selling or Furnishing Liquor or Malt or Brewed Beverages to Minors, according to the Radnor Township Police Department.

In a two days after charges were officially filed, Hicks’ attorney Richard Hark stated that Symantha Hicks supplied the boys with alcohol but denied any allegations of any sexual contact.
