Wayne Home Catches Fire

Firefighters from Radnor, Berwyn and Paoli worked together to extinguish the fire.

A home in the 300 block of Conestoga Road in Wayne caught fire in the evening of Thursday, May 24.

According to the Berwyn Fire Company, the Radnor Fire Company, along with an engine from Berwyn, was dispatched at 6:16 p.m. Upon arriving at the home, firefighters encountered fire in the rear of a two-and-a-half story single-family home.

The fire was extinguished in less than a half hour, according to notes on the fire from Berwyn Fire Company,

The home was occupied at the time of the fire, but everyone escaped safely.

"The home was spared major damage due to the quick initial actions of the crew of Radnor Engine 15-1 and Ambulance 15-7," reads the fire company's web site.

The Radnor Township Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
