The two-alarm fire began in the kitchen of the White Dog Cafe and spread through a vent to the roof the building, according to Radnor Fire Co. Deputy Chief Joseph Maguire.

"Extensive" damage was done to the building by the fire, but also by the firefighters having to cut open walls and part of the building's roof to fight the fire, Maguire said. Other businesses within the building suffered smoke and water damage from sprinkler systems.
