County Council Sets Aside March as Women’s History Month

The theme for the 2012 observance is "Women's Empowerment and Women's Education."

 

A resolution declaring March to be Women’s History Month was presented at the Feb. 22 Delaware County Council meeting by Councilwoman Colleen P. Morrone to (from left) Jonna DiStefano, Director of Behavioral Health of the County Human Services Department, Denise Stewart, Chair of the Delaware County Women’s Commission, Mrs. Morrone, Theresa Agostinelli, Vice Chair of the Women’s Commission and Chair of this year’s Women’s History Month activities, and Veronica Barbato, a member of the Women’s Commission.

The theme for the 2012 observance is “Women’s Empowerment and Women’s Education.”  In celebration of Women’s History Month, the annual Woman of Achievement and Hall of Fame awards will be presented at a reception on March 7 by the Commission at the Towne House, Media.
