County Seeks Residents' Opinions On Parks

Delaware County currently spends $2.77 per person, per year, on county parks. An online survey is available for residents to give input for county planning purposes.

Delaware County residents are being asked to take an anonymous online public survey to guide county Planning and Parks departments in the development of its Open Space, Recreation and Greenway Plan.

The survey, hosted by SurveyMonkey, solicits opinions on county and municipal parks, trails and public/private open spaces and inquires about frequency of use and for what purposes they're used.

It’s estimated to take about 10 to 15 minutes and runs through July 4.

Residents can give detailed input on six county parks, which are considered highest priority, or you can skip to the end of the survey.

The first multiple choice question asks, “What experiences are you looking for when visiting parks or recreation areas?”

Another question states that Delaware County currently spends $2.77 per person, per year, on county parks then asks “How willing are you to use Delaware County tax dollars to pay for parks, open space and recreation?”

The survey ends by asking for contact information for those interested in volunteering at county parks, the option to answer the park-specific surveys and an invitation to read more about open space planning efforts at the Delaware County Planning Department's website.
