Deer Cull Has Had Big Impact in Radnor

Did you notice fewer deer in Radnor this winter?

Radnor Township's deer culling program has killed 225 deer within the township, including 183 adult does and fawns and 42 adult bucks, according to a presentation made to the Board of Health on Monday, March 18.

All 225 deer were donated for charitable food distribution: 141 went to the Central PA Food bank and 84 to other individuals and charitable organizations in Southeastern PA, according to the township. All in all, about 6,100 lbs. of venison meat was donated.

82 of the deer were removed on Radnor Township property; 143 were removed on private property.

According to the township, there were 32 incidents involving deer last year from January 1 to March 18. There were 23 incidents in the same time period this year.
