Democratic Commissioner Candidates Victorious

The wins will give the Board of Commissioners a 5 to 2 Democratic majority.

Only a few years ago there were five Republicans and two Democrats on Radnor Township's Board of Commissioners. This year's election reverses that as four Radnor Democratic commissioner candidates were victorious Tuesday.

According to the unofficial numbers from the Delaware County Bureau of Elections, in the First Ward Jim Higgins beat Republican Tim Pitts 437 to 325.

In the Third Ward Democratic incumbent and long-time commissioner Bill Spingler won over Republican challenger Emily Hobson by a small margin of votes 614 to 605, according to the Democratic party results.

Democratic incumbent John Nagle returns to the board with his 358 to 284 win over Ernie Shapiro.

Democratic incumbent John Fisher also won another four-year term by beating Tom Dougherty 422 to 214.
