The Delaware County Council honored police and a deputy district attorney for their role of the arrest and prosecution of a man found guilty of stabbing a man to death.

In June of 2010, Sean Burton was arrested after police received information of a fight at the Olde Sproul Shopping Center in Springfield and a man fitting Burton's description fleeing the scene, District Attorney of Delaware County Mike Green told Patch before the council’s Tuesday meeting started.

With information from eyewitnesses, police were able to quickly pull Burton’s vehicle over, where they found blood on him and his victim in the vehicle, Green said, adding that police were able to arrest Burton within half an hour of committing the crime. Recently, a jury found Burton guilty of first-degree murder of James Stropas.
