Congressman Pat Meehan (R-PA 7)  will hold a town hall meeting next Wednesday, April 20th from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the . According to a news release issued by Meehan's office on Friday afternoon, Radnor will be the second stop on a scheduled 11 hour tour that will include five hour-long meetings across Meehan's district.

Press Secretary Maureen Keith says Meehan scheduled the marathon day of town halls in an effort to talk with as many constituents as possible and to let district residents voice their concerns about issues facing the district and the nation. Keith says Meehan may hold additional meetings during the scheduled congressional recess which runs from April 18th-29th.  She says those meetings tentatively include a senior center.

Seniors and anyone with plans to retire in the next ten years may indeed have a lot of questions. The town hall meeting schedule was announced after House republicans passed a budget proposal that would make sweeping changes in Medicare and Medicaid.

According to a statement released by Meehan's office Friday afternoon, "people who turn 65 in 2022 or later years and Disability Insurance beneficiaries who become eligible for Medicare in 2022 or later would not enroll in the current Medicare program but instead would be entitled to a premium support payment to help them purchase private health insurance." under the House republican plan.

Every democrat and four republicans opposed the budget bill which passed the house  235 to 193. It now goes the democrat-controlled Senate.

Despite just one hour for each stop Keith says voters will get a chance to be heard. She says Meehan generally tries  to keep his remarks brief in order to listen to constituents. She says the congressman "gets to chat with just about everybody(at his town hall meetings)."

Wednesday's day-long tour is scheduled for five locations across the seventh district which covers Delaware and parts of  Montgomery and Chester Counties.
