Radnor Adds Funds For Emergency Storm-Related Costs

Last week's storm swept away cars and filled basements in Wayne.

Radnor Township approved a supplemental appropriations measure for 2012 budget to address emergency storm-related costs after last week's storm caused widespread damage in Wayne, reports Main Line Media News.

According to the paper, dropped nearly 3 inches of rain and caused "25 emergency calls, five tons of storm debris and the failure of the North Wayne Field retention basin to hold back a 'wall of water' that inundated basements and swept away 'four-to-six cars' along Poplar Avenue."

On Tuesday, May 22, workmen dredged under the Popular Avenue bridge in North Wayne. The mobile dredging crew is working to remove sediment from the stream bed (see photos).
