Radnor Board of Commissioners Elects First Female President

Elaine Paul Schaefer represents the township's Fourth Ward, which covers parts of Rosemont and Newtown Square.

Elaine Paul Schaefer (Democrat, Ward 4) was elected the first female president of Radnor Township's Board of Commissioners on Monday. She was elected to the board in 2009 and has served as vice president for one year.

"We have a very full plate for the next year," Schaefer told Radnor Patch. "Some of the important issues that I'd like to see the BoC accomplish, or at least make progress on, are: Establishing a stable funding path for our long term obligations such as our OPEB liabilities; making progress toward establishing a stormwater management program and establishing a funding system for that program; Ensuring the long term viability and stability of the Willows Mansion; and working toward preserving a portion of the Ardrossan Estate."

According to her bio on Radnor Township's Web site, she was the Executive Director of the Radnor Conservancy. She also served on the Executive Board of the Radnor Educational Foundation, the Board of the Radnor League of Women Voters and as President of the Radnor Middle School PTO and the Ithan Elementary School PTO.
