Radnor Has New Emergency Notification System

The system will be used to notify the public of emergencies that affect Radnor Township.

Radnor Township has implemented a new emergency notification system that will be used to notify the public of emergencies that affect the township.

Residents can subscribe to the system by providing telephone numbers.

In the event of an emergency, a subscriber who has provided the township with  phone number information will be contacted by a pre-recorded voice message about the nature of the event and response actions that the public should take, according to the township.

This service is provided by CodeRED, a strategic emergency messaging company. Although the township has provided the company with a database of home and business phone numbers, all residents are urged by the township to subscribe all of their phone numbers to ensure that they receive proper emergency notifications.

Residents can also sign up for weather alerts. CodeRED Weather Warning is a service that automaticall calls citizens in the path of severe weather just moments after a warning has been issued by the National Weather Service, according to the township.
