Radnor Middle School Gets Official Recognition

The school and 77 others in the country are "Green Ribbon Schools."

 

On June 4, principal Anthony Stevenson and Watershed teacher Jon Savitch represented the school at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.

At the ceremony, senior Administration Officials, including U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Regina Benjamin, formally recognized the school and 77 others as Green Ribbon Schools.

Stevenson and Savitch then came back to Wayne for a June 5 recognition assembly in the RMS auditorium.

With them were Mike Walsh, Deputy Secretary for Administration at the Pennsylvania Department of Education; Mike Weilbacher, executive director of The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education; special guest and former RMS principal Bill Laffey; Lori Braunstein, project director at the Delaware Valley Green Building Council; superintendent Dr. Linda Grobman; director of operations Leo Bernabei; Watershed teacher Banny Ackerman; and Watershed students
