Radnor Preparing for Hurricane Sandy

What are you doing to prepare for tropical storm conditions?

Radnor Township is preparing for tropical storm conditions that may hit the area Monday into Tuesday. Preparations started Thursday and Friday with all-departments staff meetings, said manager Bob Zienkowski.

"We will meet again Sunday and will be ready to go Monday morning throughout the weather event," he said. "We also will be coordinating with the schools and universities as we did last year."

Last August, Hurricane Irene caused damaging floods in parts of Radnor.

According to the Radnor Township School District, storm and roof drains have been inspected and cleaned, and emergency generators have been tested and  fueled.

"Security will remain watchful, particularly around the administration building, where flooding has occurred in the past. We are continuously monitoring the forecast and all appropriate staff is ready to act if necessary. We are also coordinating with the township in case any other measures are needed," reads a note from the administration.
