Republicans Question 422 Toll Plans

Tredyffrin's Warren Kampf is among the GOP State House members who represent areas along the 422 corridor and who held a news conference Thursday.

State House Republicans are raising questions about a report  presented in Harrisburg on Monday on a proposal to turn the heavily travelled and often heavily congested southern section of U.S. 422 into a toll road.

At a presentation Monday, Democrat Joseph Hoeffel, a Montgomery County Commissioner who is also  the head of the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, helped present the proposal to the Governor's Transportation Funding Commission.

The plan would impose a $2.65 one-way toll on the roadway from Route 202 in Chesterbrook to Douglassville.
